Whats it all about Freddy, you, person with too much time to spare???
In the search for something that can make totally random sounds and in the interest of fucking things up I decided to make this. The Subether NG (name derived from Hitchhikers Guide). By using radio wave as the source for the sound it is listening to the sound of the everything and nothing at the same time. For example, the sounds we hear on the radio, specifically AM/LW radio are bouncing of the ionosphere from all corners of the globe and the back ground sound you hear is the sound of the magnetic fields its passing though. Also you get all sorts of interference noises (it went crazy when the thermostat for fridge came on) that are mainly very local to the device.  I wanted sounds that sounded as evil as possible.

I wanted to make a tape that was just 1 second long. really hard to get it exactly right but it kind of worked. The tape I used an old Motleycrue ones. I cut the tape in the middle and grabbed a bit of it and measured a 1 second length and positioned it back in the cassette mechanism.
I recorded the results in Adobe Audition.

I was just going though my old sketch books and I had forgotten about these. I miss the IOM.
